In University Park, Amplify Development Co. and Core Spaces have completed work on a mixed-use apartment complex a few blocks north of the USC campus.

Over the past two and a half years, Amplify Development Company has made strides in the student housing industry, expanding to new markets across the nation and adding multiple investment platforms to its business.

Expanding its student housing-focused portfolio in Colorado, Amplify Development Co. has acquired the Vista Apartments across from the University of Denver for $41.3 million.

Amplify is planning a comprehensive renovation of the 84 units this fall, including appliances, cabinets, countertops, millwork, light fixtures, and furniture. 

The Culver City, Calif.-based company bought the apartment complex at 1920 S. University Blvd. for $41.3 million — the firm’s third deal in Colorado since 2021.

Amplify Development Co., which is coming off its most active year ever, is looking to continue expanding its footprint in certain eastern markets it only recently entered.

The Culver City, Calif., company, which was founded in 2016, pursues student-housing properties and those specifically leased to fraternity and sorority organizations.

Berkadia recently announced the sale of University Lofts — a 36-unit, 98-bed, mixed-use student housing property located at 2373 E. Evans Ave. in Denver — for $24.5 million, to an undisclosed buyer on behalf of California-based Amplify Development Company.

JLL Capital Markets has arranged the $12.7 million sale of a 0.35-acre development site located adjacent to the San Diego State University campus in California.

Situated at 5505 Lindo Paseo, the site is currently home to a fraternity house and is suitable for a dense, vertical development, according to JLL.

Champion Real Estate Company (“Champion”), announced today that it has acquired a former fraternity house adjacent to San Diego State University and located at 5505-25 Lindo Paseo in San Diego for
$12.7 million.

The Hub on Figueroa, which is being developed as a joint venture between Amplify Development Co. and Core Spaces, will eventually consist of a seven-story edifice at 28th and Figueroa Streets featuring 157 apartments above 5,128 square feet of ground-floor retail and a semi-subterranean parking garage.

A 420-unit, student-centered apartment complex could be built just steps away from Cal State Fullerton, clearing a hurdle this week with narrow approval from the city’s Planning Commission.

The project, called the Hub on Figueroa, is being developed as a joint venture between Amplify Development Co. and Core Spaces.  Plans approved earlier this year by the City of Los Angeles call for the construction of a seven-story edifice at 28th and Figueroa Streets featuring 157 apartments above 5,128 square feet of ground-floor retail and a semi-subterranean parking garage.

Amplify Development Company, Trinitas Ventures, and Beal Derkenne Construction have reached a significant milestone on Atmosphere at Tempe at project. The rooftop pool and lounge were installed this week and the official topping off of construction is set to take place next week. The project is slated to open in the fall of 2021. The project, a joint venture between Chicago-based Core Spaces and Amplify Development Co., is intended to cater to the student population at nearby universities - particularly USC. It is their second project near the school's University Park campus, following a similar 100-unit apartment building now under construction at 28th and Figueroa Streets.

Trinitas has acquired a development site located at 707 S. Forest Ave. near Arizona State University in Tempe. The company plans to develop a 530-bed, mixed-use community offering studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units alongside street level retail....

Protective fencing now encircles two buildings at the corner of 38th and Figueroa Streets, as Core Spaces and Amplify Development Co. clear the site of a future mixed-use development.

The project, known as Yaya Vanowen, would rise from an approximately 28,000-square-foot property located at 21121 Vanowen Street.  Plans call for a seven-story building that would feature 101 residential units above approximately 3,800 square feet of street-level retail space and basement parking....

Developer Core Spaces is looking to build a 79-unit mixed-use project at the edge of the University of Southern California’s main campus, and is seeking to take advantage of the city’s transit-oriented communities program.
